MISSION STATEMENT

V-EGANISM is independent in thoughts and actions, only choosing what is right and just for animals, humans, and the environment. V-EGANISM however does have a mission statement which is how the founder of veganism, Donald Watson, originally coined the word's definition. It was a perfect definition then and it still is a perfect definition now. So the following paragraph is V-EGANISM's official Mission Statement:

"V-EGANISM educates people and helps people and animals regarding the political and social justice cause, Veganism, which is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude--as far as is possible and practical--all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, cosmetics, household products, entertainment, service or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals, and the environment."

The Saints and Their Feast Days

"During the first 1,000 years of the Christian Church, there were many saints who loved animals. They lived with them, rescued them, nursed them and saved them from hunters. In turn, many saints were helped by animals."

‘Plant-based’ and ‘oat milk’ Added to Merriam-Webster Dictionary!

Merriam-Webster dictionary adds new words every few months, and it just added the terms, 'plant-based' and 'oat milk'.

In order to find words to add to the dictionary, its editors keep an eye on social media, as well as more traditional media outlets, including websites and national newspapers.

A word will be considered if it is widely used, and its meaning is agreed upon by people using it.

Merriam-Webster’s inclusion of vegan and environmental-centric terms therefore suggests their growing cultural significance.
Dictionary definitions

According to Merriam-Webster, plant-based means: “made or derived from plants 2 : consisting primarily or entirely of food (such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, oils, and beans) derived from plants.”

Meanwhile, oat milk is defined as: “a liquid made from ground oats and water that is usually fortified (as with calcium and vitamins) and used as a milk substitute.”

Unclothing Fast Fashion

"Fast fashion is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to causing environmental damage, as well as human rights issues. But what exactly is it and is there a way we can stop it? At a basic level, fast fashion is defined as ‘inexpensive clothing produced rapidly in response to trends’. The issue is not only reserved to online stores, who release thousands of new garments each week, unfortunately, the retail industry is rife with unethical fashion production and some of the biggest culprits might surprise you. Take a walk down your local high street and you’ll see examples of fast fashion everywhere."

"What is it, why is it so bad for us and what can we do to break the habit?"
