MISSION STATEMENT

V-EGANISM is independent in thoughts and actions, only choosing what is right and just for animals, humans, and the environment. V-EGANISM however does have a mission statement which is how the founder of veganism, Donald Watson, originally coined the word's definition. It was a perfect definition then and it still is a perfect definition now. So the following paragraph is V-EGANISM's official Mission Statement:

"V-EGANISM educates people and helps people and animals regarding the political and social justice cause, Veganism, which is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude--as far as is possible and practical--all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, cosmetics, household products, entertainment, service or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals, and the environment."

Whole Foods Selling Rabbit Flesh

A$$whole Foods Market has begun selling rabbit meat in select stores nationwide, and the move has animal advocates hopping mad. Mad enough, they say, that they'll be protesting at Whole Foods stores this weekend, handing out leaflets reminding consumers that rabbits are popular furry companions.

I think it's foolish to only protest the selling of rabbit flesh when there are other kinds of animal flesh sold at A$$whole Foods.
People should be just as outraged at selling any kind of animal flesh--not just rabbits. There is no difference in their lives; all animals are sentient beings who have the right to live, and also important, people do NOT need to eat animal flesh to be healthy...And not eating animal flesh is in the long run, good for the environment as well, plus we would be saving billions of lives every year, as well as our own lives.
Peace out.

Germany Vegan Supermarket Chain to Come to US in 2016!!

Jan Bredack founded the first vegan supermarket chain called “Veganz“, in Berlin, Germany. The business venture has proven successful with plans to open dozens of branches across Europe and for the very first time, in the US, in 2016.
In 2009, Bredack turned to veganism after suffering burn-out from a less than balanced life. After changing his lifestyle and ethical code, he wrote the book “Vegan für alle: Warum wir richtig leben sollten” ("Veganism for everyone: Why we should live right") to share his transformation with the masses.
After several trips abroad, the veggie entrepreneur, exposed to vegan products in other countries, decided to open his first store. Bredack says his decision to open a vegan supermarket came from a sundry of ideas after coming across various vegan products in the US and Russia. He said that it was difficult to shop normally when one adopts a vegan lifestyle, and he wanted to make the switch to veganism more accessible to everyone.
So for 2016, Bredack plans on taking his vegan chain to the United States. Veganz will open a vegan shopping center in Portland, Oregon--the U.S. vegan homeland.

When Veganz does arrive in Portland, I will never shop at Whole Foods again. Whole Foods is clearly ALL about the money and the owner believes a 100% vegan supermarket would fail. Well Whole Foods look and learn!

A Vegan Ostara and Easter

Ostara is a symbol of fertility but many pagans use actual animal eggs for potlucks, rituals, spells, and art. But you can make your Ostara--or Easter--celebration much better and cruelty--free vegan:

For potlucks, look into any of the egg-free alternatives for egg dishes. You can find the cruelty-free products at health food stores like Whole Foods. The brand Ener-G Replacer is a great egg substitute for any egg dish. Tofu scramble is good too.

Tie-dyeing is terrific for adults and kids! Use cruelty-free ingredients to dye altar cloths, ritual cloaks, and anything else you want dyed instead of buying and dying eggs.

For Easter hunts, have children look for plastic eggs that might be painted or contain hidden treasures. Buying bags of the plastic eggs may not be eco-friendly, but if you get those, using them over and over every year is still much better on the environment than real factory-farmed eggs, plus no harm done to animals.

The little plastic eggs are also great for spells and majick. Make a charm by putting spell scrolls, stones, and herbs in them, charge them, and hang them on trees outside your house, or indoors in some prominent place.

Ostara and Easter is a wonderful time to plant herbs, foods, and flowers.
