For me, it was very relatable for my life and very inspiring!</p>For decades being vegan, I was focused on the animals and the people, as many other vegans do. But a month ago, I "saw the light!", realizing that I'm not actively doing much for the environment...Then began my volunteer trash pickup, plastic-free, zero waste journey....<br /><br />What surprises me is living in the West Coast, I've talked to and observed many Gen Xers, Millennials and younger who couldn't care less about recycling, much less being active in at least ditching single-use plastic. They are the future, but they don't care!<br /><br />Veganism is about caring for animals, people and planet, and caring about planet itself (going plastic free, zero-waste) is about non-harming animals--and us people. <br /><br />I thought it would be overwhelming as I looked in my home with my eyes open to all the plastic--especially in the kitchen. But as time goes, I have almost daily purged plastic from my home, replacing plastic items with awesome alternatives, and getting a HUGE amount of education from this all!<br /><br />This journey is wonderful, educational, an adventure!, fun, serious as I come to find these phenomenal plastic-free items from small businesses. I'm cooking/baking more, going to bulk bins more. It's quite an experience! My home smells better, fresher, no clutter with less plastic.<br /><br />What a life changing, beautiful journey...<div><br /></div><div>Documentaries:<br /><div><br /><a href="https://youtu.be/qDA96FWAv40">From the Waste Up - Life Without Plastic</a></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://tubitv.com/movies/527869/no-impact-man">No Impact Man</a></div></div>Lorrainehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01225550114750880480noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4504287783877577182.post-61438873448713191932023-06-21T10:58:00.017-07:002023-06-21T11:05:03.851-07:0010 Common Vegan Stereotypes <p><span style="background-color: white; color: #2d3748;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: medium;"></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #2d3748;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibsjW6MQCANqs-D2ip6zd49JkGzuj39U7tVBBiuO7OY1Dda0RwJKqusVtmCpbSZCz8w-7RMxwf8wAvfLltu7uuh2sCT_lLloigN-16GSci5z9jdgzmPmdGPwp6rL8HqrJ2SbVnCFjGG4odS86ECSONYsD7fzMVxhQc40RDDwj1HZap2h5-ZYtd68gFvWo/s303/image_2023-06-21_110240674.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="166" data-original-width="303" height="350" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibsjW6MQCANqs-D2ip6zd49JkGzuj39U7tVBBiuO7OY1Dda0RwJKqusVtmCpbSZCz8w-7RMxwf8wAvfLltu7uuh2sCT_lLloigN-16GSci5z9jdgzmPmdGPwp6rL8HqrJ2SbVnCFjGG4odS86ECSONYsD7fzMVxhQc40RDDwj1HZap2h5-ZYtd68gFvWo/w640-h350/image_2023-06-21_110240674.png" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #2d3748;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></span></div><p></p><p><span style="background-color: white; color: #2d3748;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: medium;">Debunking 10 pretty standard stereotypes, proving that veganism can be healthy, inclusive and delicious:</span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://theminimalistvegan.com/vegan-stereotypes/"><span style="font-size: medium;">10 Common Vegan Stereotypes</span></a><br /></p>Lorrainehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01225550114750880480noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4504287783877577182.post-1755219252755565572023-06-08T19:02:00.001-07:002023-06-08T19:03:18.305-07:00Interview With 'Earthling Ed' Winters<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #1d1d1f; letter-spacing: -0.065px;"></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjdcNfHRUfL3TgEyuEx0EhKFxX9rhftFmi_VZDWfrMepAl3z7aZRajYg5SDjTOCir95eHirdgOGKnyr5qfatu2WMKIlMHcatU3h8PoolvZmejvHuzHMQUj_z6xj0xCeDatQAGhsR4vxUEhKCk8TtRMuIjXEFo6Dz1Ti2Q0skgwroC1sFxEuPWnNCo3g" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img data-original-height="1137" data-original-width="1200" height="379" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjdcNfHRUfL3TgEyuEx0EhKFxX9rhftFmi_VZDWfrMepAl3z7aZRajYg5SDjTOCir95eHirdgOGKnyr5qfatu2WMKIlMHcatU3h8PoolvZmejvHuzHMQUj_z6xj0xCeDatQAGhsR4vxUEhKCk8TtRMuIjXEFo6Dz1Ti2Q0skgwroC1sFxEuPWnNCo3g=w400-h379" width="400" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #1d1d1f; letter-spacing: -0.065px;">"Ed Winters is a vegan educator who’s content boasts over 200 million views, he has also hosted numerous viral speeches, debates, and videos engaging in dialogue with non-vegans and skeptics. But what exactly is it and is there a way we can stop it? At a basic level, fast fashion is defined as ‘inexpensive clothing produced rapidly in response to trends’. The issue is not only reserved to online stores, who release thousands of new garments each week, unfortunately, the retail industry is rife with unethical fashion production and some of the biggest culprits might surprise you.
